The bird ringing station established in Ormanya to identify bird species, migration routes, and observe their behaviors has begun its activities. The station, set up in Ormanya Wildlife Park under the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, aims to determine the migration routes, behaviors, wintering areas, migration timing, and strategies of migratory bird species. The ringing and observation studies, conducted under the supervision of Istanbul University Lecturer Ergün Bacak and Cemal Özsemir from Samsun 19 Mayıs University, will continue throughout all four seasons. The project, which addresses topics such as bird biology, ecology, behavior, and reproductive efficiency, will initially run for one year. In the first 7 days, more than 100 birds from 21 different species were ringed and recorded.
